The Dakota season got underway at Torp on Saturday, May 10. Three trips were completed on the day. The lucky ones were probably those who took part in the afternoon's Oslofjord tour, because at the entrance to Drammensfjorden, just south of Svelvik, Pär Cederquist came up on the Dakota's right side with his Spitfire Mk XVI, SE-BIR. Pär had had an air show in Sweden and flew directly to Torp for waffles and coffee and fuel, in the aforementioned order of priority, before continuing the trip to Kjeller and Flydagen on Sunday. Ivar Berg in the booking department has been working on the planning for a long time and had thus pre-sold two trips around Oslo Fjord. The escort from Harvard had to miss out as Harvarden had to be fixed for a minor fault before it too got airborne on Saturday afternoon, and continued after three trips, to Kjeller. The first weekends in May have a lot of competition from confirmations and a number of events in Vestfold, so Dakota Norway is satisfied with three flights on a sunny and warm day.
