Our long-standing member Truls Kalland has died at the age of 82. In recent years, Truls struggled with illness, and it has been some time since we have been able to enjoy his contribution to the member magazine with text and photos from air shows at home and abroad. Truls' interest in aviation dates back to his childhood. His father was a fighter pilot before World War II broke out. Truls was a curious and fearless adventurer and globetrotter. He spent his spare time and money exploring the world - literally, the whole world. Among other things, he took the Hurtigruten up and down the coast ten times, which resulted in the book "Hunting for the Light". After a long professional life in the service of computer technology in various industries, he retired in the early 2000s, and then became involved in both Dakota Norway and Warbirds of Norway, where he was co-owner of LN-WNB, the small passenger plane Broussard based at Kjeller. Truls and his wife Terttu participated in several of Dakota Noway's events and trips at home and abroad, and he provided our member magazine with content-rich reports from air shows and other events. Truls put a lot of energy into keeping up to date with the latest camera technology, which he knew how to utilize to take good pictures. He made a number of great photo books, but with modest editions, from trips and events he took part in.
We thank him for his commitment to Dakota Norway. For the Board of Dakota Norway, Martin Nilsen
